Can I move individual cards from one flash card deck to another?
I want to be able to extract a few cards from one deck and put them into a different deck. Or divide a deck (say 40 cards) in half (two 20 card decks).

Tali,
Thanks for asking. At this point the only way to do this is to create the cards in a new deck. I recommend openings the site in two browser tabs and copying from one deck to another.
Sorry to only be able to provide a temporary fix - but this is something we are looking at changing in the future.
Hope this helps.

Almost 1 year later from the original post -- and STILL no ability to move individual cards from one deck to another?? Incredible. This isn't a super advanced function we're asking for. What if I added a bunch of flashcards to the wrong deck by mistake? What if I just want to efficiently add a whole series of flashcards without worrying about categorizing them until later?
One possible way of implementing this is by creating a "mass edit" mode where a checkbox appears next to each card in a deck. You can then select all the cards you want to move, and then select the folder to which you want to move them all at once.
Please, PLEASE prioritize this. This will enhance flexibility and streamline the process of creating and using cards.-
Hi Kat,
While this exact capability is not something we have provided as of yet, we have been making strides towards improving upon the flexibility of flashcard deck creation. For example, users are able to both import and export flashcard decks into an Excel spreadsheet. This allows for more mass reorganizing/adding of flashcards. Clearly this doesn't resolve the situation of moving cards from one deck to another 100% but it is not something that has been completely disregarded.
Your 'mass edit mode' suggestion is interesting and could be an option. However, there are a number of things for us to consider on both the design and development side in terms of how something like this would look amongst our current setup as well as how the transformation of information would take place on a more technical scale. Would the cards checked off be sent to a folder as an automatic new deck? Would the cards checked off be sent to a specific deck within a folder or sub-folder? Would a copy of the card be kept in its original location? If you have any further input on how you would envision something like this working, we would definitely love to hear it.
Thank you for bringing attention to this post and know that we are always trying to make improvements as often as possible.

Hi there.
I have the exact problem as listed above. I made a deck and added information from another set of vocabulary for my students, but I expected to be able to click a checkbox to mass move my cards to a new deck.
I would expect that a feature like this should have a few options: a) checkboxes (including "select all" and "select none" functions like one often sees in gmail); b) an "actions" tab at the top of the deck including "delete," "move to...," "copy to..."; c) a window (not a pop-up, but a window overlay) displaying the places those cards can be moved to/copied to. I agree that it seems like a fairly standard feature for email users.
I can't possibly understand why one would need a sub-folder within a deck.
I feel like this is a necessary feature for users who plan on using StudyBlue on a consistent basis. Otherwise, we are left with a time-wasting process of deleting and redo-ing. It is a process similar to when we had the first typewriters: if you made a single mistake on a page, you would have to go and retype the entire page rather than using a wordprocessing document that would permit you simply to delete and type the correct word.
Thank you for working on this!!! -
