Exporting flashcards as .csv or .txt..?
Is there a way I can export my flashcards that I've made as a .csv or .txt file? Or any type of file?

Update: The new 'Export' feature is now available for use on STUDYBLUE. Take a look here for more information on where to find it and how to use it. Thank you to everyone for providing input and pushing the implementation of this option in the right direction. We look forward to continuing to improve upon current features as we move forward.

PLEASE expedite the ability to export slides! I love the service, and want to use it... but the lock-in is WAY to big of a draw back. The more effort someone puts into the flashcards the less able they are to be flexible with how to use the resources they invested their time in.
This is a very poor strategy to keep people using this service. Take a page from Quizlet, please.

1Hi maryam, currently there is no way to export flashcards. You can print off your own flashcards so that you have a copy of them though. -

Ray,
Don't be sad. The good news - because you and Maryam expressed an interest in this feature it is now on our list of new features to consider. So, you could see this added to the site. That was a long way for me to say, thank you for sending us your feedback.

Agreed. This is a necessary step to maintain customer trust -- I am loving using StudyBlue, but the lack of an export option keeps me nervous about my data, and somewhat less enthusiastic about using the service to its full potential.

I would love to be able to export. My town gets a lot of power outages in the winter and without the ability to export i can't study for my classes when this happens.

I also would like to have csv export. If it is possible all data could be saved in a folder and the csv file could contain links to the audio and video files.

Seriously this really needs to happen, I have over 300 cards that apparently can't be backed up in any other form than on paper.

Would also really like to have the ability to export. :(

I would also like to see the export feature. In the mean time, I suggest typing the cards into Excel and importing to the site. At the least, that provides you with a copy of your material as the Excel file.

but not if you use the pictures right? the images won't follow, and if you input them in the Study Blue site (which is awesome) you can't ever get them back out.
This whole thing is BS. It is a simple file scraper that needs to be implemented. Study Blue is TRYIN to cause lock-in syndrome. Terrible business strategy. -

They will not implement it (see history). My suggestion: Change to Anki.

Wow. I am impressed by your responsiveness. OK, I will stick with StudyBlue for now, if I can export my cards so I can use Anki offline, etc. Thanks!

Hi Kathryn,
Just wanted to update you and let you know the 'Export' feature for STUDYBLUE is now available. You should find it along the right hand side of the screen after clicking on a flashcard deck in your Backpack.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I’m
disappointed.
First of all, in the future, I will be typing all my flashcards into an excel sheet, and then uploading to StudyBlue. Rather disappointed about this.
For those trying to recover previously entered flashcards electronically, I have an idea for a work around. I haven't tried it, yet, but I use the software involved all the time. Get PDFRedirect and Infix PDF editor, if you don't already have them. Both are available on cnet.
I love PDFRdirect. As far as your print manager knows, it's just another available printer. When you select it, redirect auto-launches and allows you to save the file as a pdf instead. At worst, you'll a pdf version of your cards, and with redirect, there's no watermark.
Here's the part which may or may not work, but it's worth trying. Launch infix, and open the new pdf. Theoretically, you'll be able to copy and paste the text into another file. However, there's a chance that you'll have to address each entry one by one, which may or may not be worthwhile. Since you won't be saving the edited pdf, you won't need to worry about the watermark or payments.
(Sorry about not including links, I wasn't sure what the policy about including links is. Like I said, use CNet.) -

Update: We are currently working on an 'export' feature for the very near future, which should allow for users to download information from their flashcards in spreadsheet form. When more information regarding the exact 'when' becomes available, we will provide another update. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to provide feedback and suggestions regarding this feature. Every little bit helps to create a bigger picture.

This is a great step in the correct direction. But the pictures (hugely important for medical student) are still left trapped. Can you export them as well?

Hi Alex,
Unfortunately you cannot export pictures using the new 'Export' feature we have released. Now that we have the basic platform for this option released, we hope to only be able to improve upon it as time goes on. We apologize if it still does not suit your needs fully but hopefully you will be able to find ways to utilize it for the time being.
Let me know if you have any other questions or comments.
