Can you import directly into flashcards?

Is there a way to import text in a certain format into flashcards. In Quizlet, you can copy and paste a document and it will automatically put the words and definitions in the flashcards based on the format you selected. This is the only thing keeping me from using Studyblue. I know you can do the "retype as flashcards" feature but it is not the same. Thanks for the help

  • Hi Ethan,

We do offer the ability to import information as 2-column .XLS, .XLSX, or .CSV file (Excel spreadsheet) into STUDYBLUE. From the spreadsheet, flashcards are automatically created with material listed in column one as the 'Term' and column 2 as the 'Definition'. You can find the option to do this adding a new flashcard deck to your Backpack and in edit/creation mode, selecting 'Import a Spreadsheet' from along the left hand side of the screen.

Also, check out this thread for more information about how a fellow user sets up proper formatting when importing from Excel to STUDYBLUE.

Let me know if you have any other questions or comments.

Hi, I was able to successfully import an .xls file that has English in column 1 and Japanese characters in column 2. However when I try to import the same .xls for flashcards, it converts all of the Japanese to a number. I assume I am doing something wrong. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thx
