Is there a system glitch with merging decks within a class?

I'm a teacher at a high school where I have most of my students setup with an account on Study Blue. They were given the class code and I can see that they're in the class I created but they're considered "classmates". They are each individually working on assignments separate from one another and we'd like to merge the flashcards into one common folder; however, when I go to merge the decks, often they do not. Is there a glitch in the system?

Also, when they create a flashcard deck, the students can only see what they've created. They cannot see everyone else's files. Is that standard? If so, what's the most effective way that we can share everyone's cards without me having to add each file to the class? Or is there not a work-around?

Thanks for the support! Love the website so far... just need help on these few issues.

    Hi Mr. Rothrock,

Thanks very much for your email. We're very glad you and your students are finding the site useful.

For merging flashcard decks, perhaps the issue is the following: When Flashcard Deck A is open in StudyBlue, and then "Merge" is selected on the right hand side of the screen...Deck A becomes part of Deck B. That is, all of the flashcards move into Deck B. A third flashcard deck (a "Deck C") is not created.

For the other issue...when you mention your students can't see the flashcard decks of their classmates, do you mean they don't appear at all or is there a privacy block on them? Your students should be able to view each other's flashcard decks -- provided they're marked as public. They should be public because that is the default. But perhaps your students made them private when they created them?

I look forward to talking more to resolve your issues. Feel free to give me a call if easier: 608.441.1149

    Best,
    Matt
