Different Quizzes Options - Matching/Defintion vs Term/Customize/Word Bank/Timer
It would be awesome to have a matching quiz, where you are given 5-10 definitions and 5-10 terms, and have to match them to one another. Or, to only be given 5-10 definitions and all the terms, so you really have to know your stuff.

Good idea! I am putting your idea under consideration. Thanks again, Jenny

Matching terms with definitions study tool. So have a list of terms on one side and a list of different definitions on the other and you match the term to its correct definitions.

I’m
excited to this happen
I support this suggestion as well. Having the option to generate the quiz with a "Matching" option would be awesome and helpful. Can't wait to see this get implemented.

Quizzes just without "Type my Answer"! Allow Multiple Choice, T/F, and Matching all at once, or any combination of the four for a quiz.

I'm currently studying for my finals, so I have created different class folders to create flashcards for. For my psychology class, specifically, I made multiple flashcard groups (one for each chapter), but I didn't have the option to quiz myself on everything in that class folder. Studying each chapter's flashcards is helpful, but I strongly feel that I would do better for my final if I had the option to study everything in that class folder instead of just one by one. Plus, it would give great comprehensive review for the AP exam in May!

I really like the "quiz" feature, but do you think you could add a quiz feature that makes it a matching question? Or a check box (multiple answer) question? Many of our test and quizzes have this set up, so I would hoping to create practice quizzes using StudyBlue. Thanks!

I’m
amused
I love study blue over any other study/flashcard app/site out there because the user interface is simple and slick. But there are a few things I wish could be included just to make things a bit more interesting.
1. It would be nice to (like creating flashcards) make your own custom quizzes because I find it a bit easy to do a quiz when the answer stares me in the face. An example of why I want this. I was studying a topic called waves, in the quiz my question was What is a standing wave. 1. A standing wave is bla bla bla 2. The doppler effect is bla bla bla 3. Interference is bla bla bla. Being able to create a quiz to fully simulate multiple choice questions would be really great especially because you can incorporate choosing the best possible answer out of the given choices.
2. It would be cool to have more colors added to the color selector, I personally feel less productive because I have mental associations for certain colors eg red= super important blue = useful fact etc etc I even use this for formulas.
3. I hope for the quiz function you could include Short answer, where you have a blank text box and you just type in your answer. You could have this as self marking, or look for very specific key words eg A node is a point on a standing wave which is at rest. So in that sentence the keywords needed would be point on a standing wave, and rest. If that is possible.
Overall I would like to commend the Study Blue team for such an awesome application!

When I take the quiz I'd like it to leave out some of the the descriptions.
For instance, I have to know the paintings artist, year made, name of the painting, and style. However, when I take the quiz I'll know the name but not the year so I'll still get the answer right, but I haven't learned the paintings year.
So an option to mix the notes on the flash cards during the quiz wound be great.

Hello,
It's nothing too major, but I would like to have an option to make it a default that my quizzes are only multiple choice, or however I choose.
The current way of doing this right now is to manually choose what types of questions I want BEFORE I take the quiz. Sometimes, I forget and then I'd have to start over.
tl;dr Make option for default types of quizzes
Thanks!

I'm using studyblue to memorise quotes for my English Exam (will need to know ~100 by next month), so I've been using the "definition" on each flashcard as a prompt, including the context of the quote in the book's chronology, who said/if it was part of the narration, who it was being said to/about/etc. and I've been using the "term" as the actual quote, marking myself right when I get the quote word-for-word.
My only issue is, when I want to quiz myself, the only option is to have the "term" as the question, and the "definition" as the answer, for multiple choice, fill in the word and true/false. I realise I could easily rectify this by swapping terms w/definitions, as none of my material is overly long, but it would be time consuming, considering I've already taken the trouble to type up a fair few, and I'm sure the option of quizzing in reverse would be useful for other students.

You should be able to select which notecards you want from a specific group to do in a quiz because not all cards in a group are always related.

Its hard to explain but hopefully youll understand my idea :P
Have a quiz (I guess you could call it a game kinda) So there are blanks for a chart, map, etc... where you could either drag the "answers" from a word bank or change a setting to have to type in the "answer"... I thought of this idea when studying for my Grammar Midterm for a "family tree" shaped chart-thing for Phrases and Clauses (ex. First Categories: Phrases, Clauses: Under Phrases are the categories Verbals, Apposotive, Absolute, Prepositional; etc...) I cant think of any other time specifically, but I know I have looked for a site that could do that many times before.
Thanks for listening to my ranting :D
Hopefully you understood my idea and I might see it on Study Blue soon

you need to have the option to generate the qiz with the term first or the definition fist just like the flash cards. I make my flash cards in a multiple choice format and write the question as the definition and the anwser as the term to stay in the 150 and 250 character restrictions. so when I try to render a quiz the questions and anwsers are backwards

There should be a timer option when taking a practice quiz/test over the study material. For example, lets says your teacher/professor only gives you timed test being timed for 30 minutes, and your having trouble completing the test on time. A way to help one at completely the test in time and with confidence would be by adding a timer in which you can give your self 5, 30, or 60 minutes and etc. in preparation for the timed exam.

quizzes should have some kind of algorithm that searches for relevant questions so that the questions are not so easy. For example if a generic question is what kind of pizza is best. It should search the definitions for all words with pizza in them

You should make a random Matching generator which takes the terms in a deck, randomizes them, then randomizes the definitions, then puts them into two columns so you can then do a Term-Definintion matching exercise.
