Passing ownership of class folders to another student

I'm leaving the class - how do I assign ownership of our class materials to another member?

  • Hi Hazel,

We don't have anything in place to allow users to transfer ownership of documents from one account to another, if you teach the class you could consider updating the account for the new teachers email address and allowing her to simply take over the account. This assumes you do not have a personal interest in the account and you would need to do this at your own risk.

If you want to update the email address for the new teacher, they can update the password and take things over, but it would be up to you and the new teacher if you feel comfortable taking that route.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

    sad I’m somewhat frustrated
Hi hmmm, that doesn't really help. I'm not a teacher, just a student who shared all of the flashcards I've created with my class and it has become the central repository for everyone. However, I'm leaving the course. Surely there is a way you could transfer the Acupuncture folder in my backpack "from the back end"? People love the facility but there is such a lot we have created that it will cause immense disruption and discontent if someone else has to recreate all the work.

  • Hi Hazel,

If other classmates are already using your cards, you shouldn't have any issues simply leaving the site and canceling your account. Your materials will still be available to other users if they are public. Your other option would be to Export all of your cards. You can export as a spreadsheet, share that spreadsheet with your friends and they can quickly import that spreadsheet and automatically have their own deck generated.

    Hopefully this helps!

When someone else has generated cards I've always had to move them from a "holding area" into the Acupuncture folder. Can anyone do that? or does it have to be because the folder is in my account?

  • Hi Hazel,

Yup everyone sees that same save option when they view decks authored by classmates and other users. Let us know if you have any other questions yet.
