StudyBlue Sunset

What is happening to StudyBlue?

  • Chegg acquired StudyBlue on July 2, 2018. Since then, StudyBlue has continued to operate as a separate website. Going forward, we are excited to offer Chegg Prep, a FREE flashcards tool, for all StudyBlue students.

Why are you discontinuing StudyBlue?

  • We always strive to provide the best products for our students. In order to invest in new and exciting features, we’ve decided to shut down StudyBlue and focus our efforts on improving our FREE Chegg Prep tool.

When will StudyBlue go away?

  • We will be moving all StudyBlue students to Chegg Prep by the end of 2020. Your flashcards are already there, waiting for you.

Can I edit existing decks?

  • Absolutely! All your decks are available to edit on Chegg Prep, or you can continue to edit your decks using StudyBlue until the end of 2020. Any edits made on StudyBlue will migrate to Chegg Prep within 24 hours.

What will happen to my existing decks?

  • We will be migrating any existing decks that were created on StudyBlue. We will not be migrating decks that were bookmarked to Chegg Prep. If you want to have your bookmarked decks copied to Chegg Prep, simply copy those decks on StudyBlue, and they’ll be migrated within 24 hours.

What is Chegg Prep?

  • Chegg Prep is a FREE flashcards tool, like StudyBlue. You can search through millions of user-created flashcard decks, create your own, or browse expert content. You can access Chegg Prep through our Chegg Prep mobile app or on Chegg.com.

How do I export my flashcards from StudyBlue if I don’t want to use Chegg Prep?

  • You can download any flashcard deck on StudyBlue by following these simple steps:
  1. Log in to your StudyBlue account
  2. Search for the flashcard deck(s) you want to export
  3. Click on the ellipsis (…) in the upper right corner of the page
  4. Select Export
  • This will export all the flashcards in that deck to an Excel or CSV file.

Will I need to create a new account on Chegg.com?

  • If you haven’t created any decks on StudyBlue before, you can access Chegg Prep and browse decks without an account. You will need to create a Chegg.com account if you wish to create and share flashcards.
  • You do not need to create a new account on Chegg.com; we've already created one for you using your StudyBlue email address. If you’ve created flashcard decks on StudyBlue before, just sign in to Chegg.com with the email address you used on StudyBlue, and then reset your password on your first login.
  1. Go to Chegg.com
  2. Click Forgot password
  3. Enter the email address you used on StudyBlue.com
  4. Check the I’m not a robot checkbox
  5. Click the Reset password button
  • This will send an email to the email address you entered with a link to reset your password.
